Song of the Week: Thunder – Jabula

My last week in Melbourne/Blairgowrie. Jer and I took the boys across on the ferry to camp out in Birregurra. After a tremendous month with Jer and his rad family, I hopped on a plane for New Zealand. Farewell Australia!

Song of the Week: Everybody Loves The Sunshine – RAMP

Really cruisey lifestyle down in Blairgowrie. Jer was working up in the city so I would catch a ride up in the morning with him, spend the day seeing the sights and then head back with him at the end of the day. We headed out to a family cottage in Metung for a weekend of beautiful late summer weather. (included are a few shots I missed in the last post.)

Song of the Week: The Monkey Speaks His Mind – Andre Williams

After a wonderful stay with Davey and Ellen up in Cairns, I flew to Melbourne and ended up spending a month with my old buddy Jer and his family. Jade, Finn, Taj and the Bear himself offered up hospitality fit for a king in their groovy home in Blairgowrie toward the tip of the Mornington Peninsula. Was a grand old time. Here are a few photos from the first week.

Song of the Days: Tour De France (remake) – Kraftwerk

Spent a few days in Tokyo trying to maintain sanity, having fun skateboarding around Shinjuku and Shibuya, enjoying the cherry blossoms in full bloom, eating really good food and drinking excellent sake. Hard to express in words. Will just have to come back to Japan sometime soon…

Song of the Day: Roll Roll Train – Hasil Adkins

Ooops – forgot to post one of my favourite days travelling in Japan. Hopped on an early train heading up the east coast of Kyushu, witnessed a fresh eruption Sakurajima volcano, was so impressed by the coastline that I jumped off at Hyuga Station to skate the beach and have a swim. The weather in Kyushu was cooler than I expected but the ocean temperature was very agreeable and I swam for close to an hour. It was delightful. Continued on the train back up to Beppu. Really enjoying the ride.
